OSCAR-WINNERS DANTE FERRETTI AND FRANCESCA LO SCHIAVO TO RECEIVE 2016 'LEGEND AWARD' AT UPCOMING

CAPRI, HOLLYWOOD -- THE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

CAPRI (Naples), ITALY, November xx, 2016 -- Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Schiavo, the internationally renowned scenic designer and set decorator (respectively) whose prestigious careers have been celebrated with a number of world class acknowledgments including three Academy Awards, will be presented with the prestigious 'Legend Award' at Capri, Hollywood -- The International Film Festival which will unfold from December 26, 2016 to January 2, 2017.

Long time collaborators of Martin Scorsese, Ferretti and Lo Schiavo created the sets of the directors latest film, “Silence," which will open in the US on December 27. It stars Liam Neeson, Adam Driver and Andrew Garfield in the role of three Jesuit priests who were persecuted in Japan during their mission to propagate Christianity.

Over the course of their brilliant careers, Ferretti and Lo Schiavo were nominated for ten Oscars and won five BAFTAs, five David di Donatello Awards, and 13 Nastri d’Argento Awards. The artistic duo is poised to work again with Scorsese in the gangster movie “The Irishman”, with Robert De Niro. Ferretti has also created the sets of Rossini’s opera “Otello”, that – on November 30 - will open the season of the San Carlo Theatre in Naples, under the direction of Amos Gitai; the Israeli filmmaker who will be attending Capri, Hollywood where he will be receiving the 'Art Award' for his Lifetime Achievements. “This is a particularly significant acknowledgment as its highlights the profound relationship between the two great artists - whom Italy is very proud of – and the Island of Capri”, said Pascal Vicedomini, the founder and producer of Capri, Hollywood.

Oscar-winner Barry Morrow will be chairing the 21st edition of Capri, Hollywood with Israeli singer Noa serving as president. The festival this year will revolve around the subject of “Mercy” and will celebrate Gianfranco Rosi’s movie “Fuocoammare” (Italy's Best Foreign Language Film entry in the Oscar's) as 'European Movie of the Year'. The Festival is backed by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (D.G Cinema), of the Campania Region (Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage) with the City of Capri and the Municipality of Anacapri.
