(EN) ANACAPRI, Dec. 14 – The “Capri – Lina Wertmüller” Award of the 30th edition of Capri Hollywood – The International Film Festival, scheduled from December 26 to January 2 on the Blue Island, has been awarded to Monica Guerritore. The prize honors the memory of the legendary Roman director, co-founder of the festival and the first woman director ever nominated for an Academy Award, and celebrates international excellence in women’s cinema.

The award is presented to Guerritore in the year of her directorial debut with Anna, a cinematic tribute to Anna Magnani. Il riconoscimento celebra la memoria della leggendaria regista romana, co-fondatrice della manifestazione e prima donna regista candidata all’Oscar, e valorizza le eccellenze internazionali del cinema femminile.

Il premio viene conferito a Guerritore nell’anno del suo debutto alla regia con “Anna”, omaggio cinematografico ad Anna Magnani. La sua parola è una guida, non solo per chi crede, ma per chiunque lavori per il bene comune».

Per l’artista, però, la pace non può restare confinata nei grandi eventi o nelle dichiarazioni ufficiali. «La pace si trasmette nei luoghi della vita quotidiana: nelle famiglie, nei condomìni, nelle scuole, negli uffici. Il giovane talento è arrivato accompagnato dalla mamma e dalla regista Cinzia Th Torrini, con cui ha debuttato nel film di Rai Fiction “Champagne” nella parte del piccolo Peppino, quando all’età di cinque anni suonava per i turisti americani sull’Isola Azzurra, dando vita a un momento intenso e autentico.

The collective honor is presented to an ensemble of outstanding prestige led by George Clooney, starring in the role of Jay Kelly, a world-renowned actor facing a profound existential crisis, who embarks on a journey of reflection on his past, his professional choices, and unresolved family relationships.

Alongside him is Adam Sandler, in the role of his manager and confidant, together with Billy Crudup, Laura Dern, Alba Rohrwacher, and Giovanni Esposito, performers who contribute decisively to the strength, depth, and balance of the narrative.

The announcement was made by Tony Renis, Honorary President of the Festival produced by Pascal Vicedomini and organized with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture – Directorate-General for Cinema and Audiovisual, the Campania Region, together with Intesa Sanpaolo and Givova.
