(ENG) CAPRI – Capri Hollywood once again confirmed its role as a bridge between European, American and international cinema by awarding Yaniv Raz with the Filmmaker of the Year prize for Eternal Return (2025), the romantic sci-fi comedy starring Naomi Scott and Kit Harington. The prestigious recognition celebrated not only the director’s distinctive cinematic voice, but also a film that brings together emotional intimacy, imaginative storytelling and a universal vision of love.

Set in a world where time, memory and relationships intersect in unexpected ways, Eternal Return follows two souls bound by a mysterious loop of fate. Naomi Scott and Kit Harington lead the film with a rare balance of warmth, irony and vulnerability, giving life to characters who must confront both the beauty and the fragility of human connection as they navigate a reality shaped by science-fiction twists and romantic longing.

Yaniv Raz’s direction transforms the genre-blending premise into a deeply personal and visually elegant experience. His approach combines lightness and emotional gravity, creating a tone that moves seamlessly between humor, tenderness and existential reflection. This unique cinematic style is what Capri Hollywood chose to honor, recognizing Raz as one of the most original and promising voices in contemporary international cinema.

During the Capri celebrations, the filmmaker spoke about the importance of telling love stories through unconventional lenses, explaining how science fiction can become a powerful tool to explore identity, memory and the fear of losing the people we love. Eternal Return embodies this philosophy, offering audiences a story that is both entertaining and emotionally resonant.

With this award, Capri Hollywood once again reinforced its mission to spotlight innovative storytellers and films that cross borders, genres and cultures. By honoring Yaniv Raz and Eternal Return, the festival highlighted a work that captures the spirit of modern cinema: romantic, imaginative and deeply human.
