Capri will award women in the sign of Lina WertmüllerOn the opening day of the 28th ‘Capri Hollywood the International Film Festival’ on December 27
The myth of Lina Wertmüller will be revived: a special award will be created in memory of the first woman ever to be nominated for an Oscar as a director, in 2019 honored with the Lifetime Achievement statuette and the Star on the Walk of Fame, and who in 1995 was among the founders, and for long years president, of the festival bridge between Italian cinema and American industry.
The initiative is intended to give an increasingly strong female connotation to the year-end kermesse that opens the international awards season.
Capri, Hollywood (Dec. 27-Jan. 2) event founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini is promoted with the support of the Ministry of Culture (Dg Cinema and Audiovisual) and the Campania Region and the patronage of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.
