”OPPENHEIMER” DIRECTED BY CHRISTOPHER NOLAN TO BE HONORED WITH THE “CAPRI BEST ENSEMBLE CAST AWARD 2023”

”OPPENHEIMER” DIR. BY NOLAN TO BE HONORED

The date of the screening of Nolan’s latest movie on the run for Oscars 2024 is Jan. 1 on Capri island.

The extraordinary group of actors in Christopher Nolan’s film “Oppenheimer” has been awarded with the “Capri Best Ensemble Cast Award 2023”, a special prize given annually as part of the “Capri, Hollywood – The International Film Festival” promoted with the MiC (DG Cinema) and the Campania Region (Film Commission), together with Intesa Sanpaolo and Givova, which will take place from Dec. 26 to Jan. 2.
The announcement of the award was made by legendary music producer Tony Renis (a former Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee), honorary president of the Capri in the World Institute, which will offer, on Monday January 1, a special screening of the movie in the rich program of the kermesse (more than 200 titles) now in its 28th edition. The festival has the patronage of the City of Anacapri, the City of Capri, the City of Naples, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterraneum, the Italian Red Cross and Nuovo Imaie, with the participation of Isaia, Caremar and Radio2 Rai.
Produced by Universal, the movie (starring Cillian Murphy, as Robert Oppenheimer, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek and Kenneth Branagh) is based on the biography of Robert Oppenheimer, “the Father of the Atomic Bomb” by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. The film chronicles the life of U.S. theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, focusing mainly on his studies and his leadership of the Manhattan Project during World War II and his fall from grace due to his 1954 security hearing.

British director Christopher Edward Nolan is also a screenwriter and producer. Already nominated for five Oscars, he is one of the highest-grossing filmmakers in history with more than $6 billion.

“Capri Hollywood – The International Film Festival 2023” is produced by Capri in The World Institute with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture and the Region Campania (Film Commission Campania). Among the patronages: Città di Capri, Comune di Anacapri, Parlamentary Assembly Of the Mediterranean, Città Metropolitana di Napoli, Croce Rossa Italiana and Nuovo Imaie.
