Capri Special Contest 2025
1.ORGANIZZATORI
Nell’ambito dell’attività cinematografica annuale promossa sin dal 1995, anche quest’anno l’Istituto Capri nel mondo promuove il Capri Special Contest nell’ambito del “Capri Film Festival 2025”.
2.OBIETTIVI
Come di consuetudine, il Capri Special Contest vuole conferire un particolare valore artistico alle opere, italiane ed internazionali, di grande qualità artistica e forte spessore sociale. E si propone anche come occasione particolare di ricerca, analisi, approfondimento e dialogo delle opere proposte in anteprima o comunque già prodotte/distribuite nell’anno in corso sia in Italia che all’estero.
3.DATA E DURATA
Il Capri Special Contest 2025 avrà luogo dal 26 dicembre 2025 al 2 gennaio 2026, per la durata di 8 giorni. Il Capri Special Contest 2025 si svolgerà sia in presenza nelle sale cinematografiche di Capri sia online sulle piattaforme Mymovies.it ed Eventive.org. Le proiezioni sono gratuite.
4.SEZIONI DEL CONTEST
L’attività del Capri Special Contest 2025 si articola in due sezioni, in due sezioni, nazionale ed internazionale, articolate come segue:
1. Working Authors: Lungometraggi, Documentari e Cortometraggi (di durata non superiore ai 20minuti) provenienti da ogni parte del mondo e distribuiti nelle sale internazionali e/o sulle piattaforme dal 1 gennaio 2025 al 31 dicembre 2025 (o comunque in anteprima).
Segmento nazionale:
1. The Italian Job: Lungometraggi, Documentari e Cortometraggi (di durata non superiore ai 20minuti) nazionali distribuiti nelle sale e/o sulle piattaforme dal 1 gennaio 2025 al 31 dicembre 2025 (o comunque in anteprima).
5.LE OPERE
1.Le opere devono essere iscritte alla piattaforma FilmFreeWay entro il 1 dicembre 2025: https://filmfreeway.com/CapriHollywood?welcome=true
Le opere in lingua internazionale devono avere i sottotitoli in inglese. Insieme all’opera, deve essere inviato un pressbook con le caratteristiche tecniche e artistiche e se l’opera è inedita o no.
2. Deve iscrivere l’opera chi detiene i diritti della stessa o chi è legittimamente autorizzato dagli aventi diritto.
3. La selezione delle opere è a cura e giudizio insindacabile del Board del Festival con l’ausilio di eccellenze Globali individuate annualmente dal direttivo dell’Istituto Capri nel mondo e che intervengono alla manifestazione sostenendola in ogni ambito. Le opere saranno scelte in base alla qualità artistica e allo spessore sociale.
4. I titoli selezionati saranno comunicati via e-mail ai partecipanti del Contest.
5.Il Board dell’Istituto assegnerà prima, durante e dopo la manifestazione i seguenti premi:

Ulteriori Premi a riconoscimento delle opere e del talento degli artisti individuati dal Board, unitamente ai premi speciali Capri Legend Award, a beneficio di personalità artistiche entrate nella storia dello spettacolo per il proprio talento, verranno assegnati su proposta di uno dei membri del Board 2025.
6. Il Premio consiste nella consegna della Sirena realizzata in metallo dall’artista campano Lello Esposito. Non è previsto alcun premio in denaro.
6.GIURIA
La giuria del Contest sarà composta da:
Franco Nero, attore, icona del genere western; il Premio Oscar l’attrice americana Melissa Leo; Shakhar Kapur regista indiano; Noa, artista israeliana; Mike Figgis, regista inglese, candidato Oscar; Vincent Riotta, attore inglese; Alessandro Preziosi, attore; Sebastiano Somma, attore; Andrea Griminelli, musicista di chiara fama mondiale; Edoardo Costa, attore.
7. SOTTOTITOLI e MOVIMENTAZIONE COPIE
1.Le opere italiane di interesse internazionale saranno proposte al Board e al pubblico con sottotitoli in inglese.
2.I film stranieri saranno presentati in versione originale con sottotitoli italiani. Per i film parlati in una lingua diversa dall’inglese, si invitano i produttori dei film, quando possibile, a fornire al Festival una copia sottotitolata in inglese ed i dialoghi in italiano.
3.Le copie dei film selezionati dal Festival dovranno essere inviate:
– su file, per le opere che saranno proiettate sulle piattaforme digitali di Mymovies.it ed Eventive.com entro il 16 dicembre 2025. I file saranno eliminati al termine del Festival.
– su DCP, per le opere che saranno proiettate nelle sale cinematografiche. Le copie dovranno arrivare presso la sede operativa della manifestazione a Roma entro e non oltre il 16 dicembre 2025, seguendo le istruzioni che verranno fornite dall’Ufficio Programmazione. Le eventuali spese di spedizione delle opere sono a carico dei partecipanti. Le spedizioni provenienti da paesi Extra UE devono riportare la dicitura “no commercial value, for cultural purposes only”. La resa delle copie di proiezione avverrà entro e non oltre il 15 gennaio 2026.
Insieme alla copia/file del film, dovranno essere inviati per email: pressbook con informazioni tecniche e artistiche dell’opera, foto, trailer e qualsiasi altro materiale promozionale da poter diffondere alla stampa e poter pubblicare sul sito web del Festival e sui canali social.
Non è prevista alcuna fee per la proiezione dell’opera nell’ambito del Capri Special Contest.
4. La Direzione del Festival curerà la pubblicazione di un catalogo generale (cartaceo e digitale) delle opere presentate.
6. Il calendario e gli orari delle proiezioni saranno comunicati dalla Direzione del Festival entro il 20 dicembre. Eventuali modifiche avverranno esclusivamente per cause indipendenti dalla volontà dell’organizzazione (condizioni meteorologiche, problematiche tecniche, presenza a Capri dei talents ed altre eventuali esigenze). Il programma ufficiale sarà stampato e diffuso dalla Direzione del Festival che comunicherà attraverso il sito www.capri-world.com ogni eventuale ed imprevista variazione.
8. INDICAZIONI GENERALI
1.Tutte le opere (in qualsiasi formato) saranno assicurate da eventuali danni con una polizza di assicurazione “tutti i rischi” (comprensiva dello smarrimento o del furto della copia), stipulata a cura dell’Istituto Capri nel mondo per tutto il periodo nel quale le copie rimarranno in suo possesso. In caso di smarrimento o di danneggiamento della copia, la responsabilità del Festival sarà comunque limitata al valore di ristampa della copia secondo le tariffe in vigore in Italia.
2.Le opere presentate al Capri Film Festival saranno selezionate su valutazione insindacabile del Board dell’Istituto.
3.I giudizi relativi alle premiazioni delle opere e degli artisti sono di esclusiva pertinenza del Board.
4.Il presente regolamento è redatto in lingua italiana ed inglese. In caso di problemi interpretativi, fa fede esclusivamente la versione italiana.
5.La richiesta di ammissione allo Special Contest implica l’accettazione incondizionata del presente regolamento
6.La Direzione del Festival può prendere decisioni relative a questioni non previste dal presente regolamento. Per ogni eventuale controversia è competente il Foro di Napoli.
1. ORGANIZERS
As part of the annual film activities promoted since 1995, this year the Istituto Capri nel Mondo once again promotes the Capri Special Contest within the framework of the Capri Film Festival 2025.
2. OBJECTIVES
As usual, the Capri Special Contest aims to confer special artistic value on Italian and international works of great artistic quality and strong social significance. It also serves as a special opportunity for research, analysis, in-depth study, and dialogue on works presented as previews or already produced/distributed during the current year, both in Italy and abroad.
3. DATES AND DURATION
The Capri Special Contest 2025 will take place from December 26, 2025, to January 2, 2026, lasting 8 days.
The Capri Special Contest 2025 will be held both in person, in the cinemas of Capri, and online on the platforms Mymovies.it and Eventive.org.
Screenings are free of charge.
4. CONTEST SECTIONS
The Capri Special Contest 2025 is divided into two sections, national and international, structured as follows:
International Section – Working Authors: Feature films, documentaries, and short films — with a running time not exceeding 20 minutes — from all over the world, distributed in international cinemas and/or on platforms between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, or presented as previews.
National Section – The Italian Job: Italian feature films, documentaries, and short films — with a running time not exceeding 20 minutes — distributed in cinemas and/or on platforms between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, or presented as previews.
5. THE WORKS
Works must be submitted through the FilmFreeway platform by December 1, 2025:

Works in international languages must have English subtitles. Together with the work, a pressbook must be submitted, including the technical and artistic characteristics of the work and specifying whether the work is unpublished or not.
The work must be submitted by the rights holder or by a person legitimately authorized by the rights holders.
The selection of the works is entrusted to the sole and final judgment of the Festival Board, with the support of global excellence figures identified annually by the governing body of the Istituto Capri nel Mondo, who take part in and support the event in all areas. The works will be selected on the basis of their artistic quality and social significance.
The selected titles will be communicated by email to the Contest participants.
The Board of the Institute will award the following prizes before, during, and after the event:

Additional awards recognizing works and the talent of artists identified by the Board, together with the special Capri Legend Awards, honoring artistic personalities who have entered the history of entertainment through their talent, will be assigned upon the proposal of one of the members of the 2025 Board.
The Award consists of the presentation of the Siren, made in metal by Campanian artist Lello Esposito. No cash prize is provided.
6. JURY
The Contest jury will be composed of:
Franco Nero, actor and icon of the western genre; Academy Award-winning American actress Melissa Leo; Shekhar Kapur, Indian director; Noa, Israeli artist; Mike Figgis, British director and Academy Award nominee; Vincent Riotta, British actor; Alessandro Preziosi, actor; Sebastiano Somma, actor; Andrea Griminelli, world-renowned musician; Edoardo Costa, actor.
7. SUBTITLES AND DELIVERY OF COPIES
Italian works of international interest will be presented to the Board and the public with English subtitles.
Foreign films will be presented in their original version with Italian subtitles. For films spoken in a language other than English, producers are invited, whenever possible, to provide the Festival with a copy subtitled in English and the Italian dialogue list.
Copies of the films selected by the Festival must be sent as follows:
As files, for works to be screened on the digital platforms Mymovies.it and Eventive.com, by December 16, 2025. The files will be deleted at the end of the Festival.
As DCPs, for works to be screened in cinemas. The copies must arrive at the operational headquarters of the event in Rome no later than December 16, 2025, following the instructions that will be provided by the Programming Office. Any shipping costs for the works shall be borne by the participants. Shipments from non-EU countries must bear the wording: “no commercial value, for cultural purposes only.” Screening copies will be returned no later than January 15, 2026.
Together with the film copy/file, the following materials must be sent by email: a pressbook containing technical and artistic information about the work, photos, trailer, and any other promotional material that may be distributed to the press and published on the Festival website and social media channels.
No screening fee is provided for the presentation of the work within the Capri Special Contest.
The Festival Direction will oversee the publication of a general catalogue, both printed and digital, of the works presented.
The screening calendar and times will be communicated by the Festival Direction by December 20. Any changes will occur exclusively for reasons beyond the control of the organization, including weather conditions, technical issues, the presence of talents in Capri, and any other requirements. The official program will be printed and distributed by the Festival Direction, which will communicate any unexpected changes through the website www.capri-world.com.
8. GENERAL PROVISIONS
All works, in any format, will be insured against possible damage through an “all risks” insurance policy, including loss or theft of the copy, arranged by the Istituto Capri nel Mondo for the entire period during which the copies remain in its possession. In the event of loss or damage to the copy, the Festival’s liability shall in any case be limited to the cost of reprinting the copy according to the rates in force in Italy.
The works presented at the Capri Film Festival will be selected at the sole and final discretion of the Institute’s Board.
Judgments concerning the awards for works and artists fall exclusively within the competence of the Board.
These regulations are drawn up in Italian and English. In the event of interpretation issues, the Italian version shall prevail exclusively.
The application for admission to the Special Contest implies unconditional acceptance of these regulations.
The Festival Direction may take decisions concerning matters not provided for in these regulations. Any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of the Court of Naples.
