(EN) Capri Hollywood Festival celebrates its thirtieth anniversary in the name of the legendary Maestro Ennio Morricone. The tribute will take place on December 27 on the Blue Island in two moments: at 12:00 in Anacapri and at 16:00 in the historic Piazzetta.
The protagonists of the day will be the Vatican Gendarmerie Band, performing a special musical program, and Andrea Morricone, Ennio’s son, a composer of great sensitivity and talent, a direct witness to an artistic legacy that continues to move and inspire audiences around the world. Both will also receive a special award presented by Tony Renis, Honorary President of the Festival, and Vince Riotta, Chairman 2025: the Vatican Gendarmerie Band for its constant mission of peace and dialogue at major international events, and Andrea Morricone for his artistic journey, marked by a distinct and profound voice, in the sign of an ideal and spiritual continuity with his father’s work.
Over the years, the relationship between Ennio Morricone and Capri Hollywood has been deep and decisive. Its most significant moment came in 2016 when, thanks to the commitment of the Capri nel Mondo Institute, the Maestro was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was a historic ceremony, hosted by Quentin Tarantino, Franco Nero and Andrea Griminelli, which took place just hours before Oscar night, when Morricone received the Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Hateful Eight.
The 30th edition of Capri Hollywood, promoted by the Istituto Capri nel Mondo, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Campania Region, and with the participation of Intesa Sanpaolo and Givova, will be dedicated to peace, dialogue, and the encounter between cultures — core values of the Festival since its inception. Officially opening the Festival on December 27 will be the film 260 Days by Croatian director Jakov Sedlar, an intense drama based on a true story, starring Tim Roth, Armand Assante, and Ángela Molina. However, the first special screenings on the island will begin as early as December 26. Among the other awards already announced for #CH30 are those to Matteo Garrone, Karla Sofia Gascón, McKenna Marshall, Ronn Moss, Nunzia Di Stefano, and Donatella Finocchiaro.
