Italian cinema honored with Follemente, Martone and Rosi
(EN) Capri (NA) – The Board of Artists of Capri Hollywood 2025, chaired by Anglo-Italian actor Vincent Riotta, has announced the awards of the 30th edition of the festival, which celebrates great international cinema, its auteurs and the performances that defined the season, alongside the excellence of the best Italian filmmaking.
The Capri Award – Film of the Year goes to Frankenstein (Netflix) by Guillermo del Toro, a work that impressed the Board of the Capri in the World Institute for its visionary power and its ability to reinvent a great cinematic myth.
“Frankenstein is a powerful and imaginative film that shows how cinema can be both popular and deeply auteur-driven,” said Vincent Riotta, who also announced the additional honors awarded to Del Toro’s film: Capri Visionary 2025, Best Costumes, Best Production Design, and Best Makeup and Hair.
“These outstanding professionals helped elevate a truly special work, with a strong and original visual style capable of enhancing the film’s dramatic impact and creative flair,” Riotta added.
The Capri Award – Director of the Year goes to Paul Thomas Anderson for One Battle After Another. For the same film, Leonardo DiCaprio receives the Best Actor award for an intense and charismatic performance. The season’s breakout talent, Teyana Taylor, is honored as Best Supporting Actress, “for a performance of remarkable expressive power.”
The Best Ensemble Cast award is presented to Jay Kelly by Noah Baumbach, while Adam Sandler receives the Capri Award – Best Supporting Actor.
Among actresses, Capri Hollywood 2025 honors Emma Stone for Bugonia by Yorgos Lanthimos.
The Capri Award – Best International Film of the Year goes to the new film by Jafar Panahi, submitted by France, which also wins Best Screenplay.
The Best Adapted Screenplay award is presented to Train Dreams, written by Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar, for its ability to transform a literary work into a cinematic narrative of great intensity. The film also receives the award for Best Cinematography.
The Capri Award – Animated Film goes to KPop Demon Hunters, which is also honored for Best Original Song, “Golden”.
The Capri Award – Documentary of the Year is awarded to The Perfect Neighbor, praised for the originality of its subject and its narrative strength.
Finally, Kathryn Bigelow’s latest film, A House of Dynamite, receives the awards for Best Editing and Best Sound.
For Italian cinema, among the awards presented: Film of the Year to Follemente by Paolo Genovese; Best Director to Mario Martone for Fuori; Best Documentary to Sotto le nuvole by Gianfranco Rosi; and Best TV Series to Sandokan, a Lux Vide–Rai Fiction production.
Capri Hollywood 2025, promoted with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Region of Campania, with the participation of Intesa Sanpaolo and Givova, concludes with great enthusiasm, setting its sights on the 21st edition of Los Angeles Italia – Film, Fashion and Art Festival (March 8–14), the sister festival promoted by the Capri in the World Institute in Hollywood, held on the eve of the Academy Awards at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre, home of the Oscars.

(IT) Capri (NA) – Il Board of Artists di Capri Hollywood 2025, presieduto dall’attore anglo-italiano Vincent Riotta, ha annunciato i premi della 30ª edizione del festival, che celebra il grande cinema internazionale, i suoi autori e le interpretazioni che hanno definito la stagione, accanto all’eccellenza della migliore produzione italiana.
Il Capri Award – Film of the Year va a Frankenstein (Netflix) di Guillermo del Toro, un’opera che ha colpito il Board del Capri in the World Institute per la sua forza visionaria e la capacità di reinventare un grande mito cinematografico.
“Frankenstein è un film potente e immaginifico che dimostra come il cinema possa essere al tempo stesso popolare e profondamente d’autore”, ha dichiarato Vincent Riotta, che ha inoltre annunciato i riconoscimenti aggiuntivi assegnati al film di Del Toro: Capri Visionary 2025, Migliori Costumi, Migliore Scenografia e Miglior Trucco e Acconciature.
“Questi straordinari professionisti hanno contribuito a elevare un’opera davvero speciale, con uno stile visivo forte e originale, capace di esaltare l’impatto drammatico e la creatività del film”, ha aggiunto Riotta.
Il Capri Award – Director of the Year va a Paul Thomas Anderson per One Battle After Another. Per lo stesso film Leonardo DiCaprio riceve il premio come Miglior Attore per un’interpretazione intensa e carismatica. La rivelazione della stagione, Teyana Taylor, è premiata come Miglior Attrice Non Protagonista, “per una prova di notevole potenza espressiva”.
Il premio Miglior Cast d’Insieme va a Jay Kelly di Noah Baumbach, mentre Adam Sandler riceve il Capri Award – Best Supporting Actor.
Tra le attrici, Capri Hollywood 2025 premia Emma Stone per Bugonia di Yorgos Lanthimos.
Il Capri Award – Best International Film of the Year va al nuovo film di Jafar Panahi, candidato dalla Francia, che si aggiudica anche il premio per la Migliore Sceneggiatura.
Il premio Miglior Sceneggiatura Non Originale va a Train Dreams, scritta da Clint Bentley e Greg Kwedar, per la capacità di trasformare un’opera letteraria in un racconto cinematografico di grande intensità. Il film riceve inoltre il premio per la Migliore Fotografia.
Il Capri Award – Animated Film va a KPop Demon Hunters, che ottiene anche il premio per la Miglior Canzone Originale, “Golden”.
Il Capri Award – Documentary of the Year è assegnato a The Perfect Neighbor, apprezzato per l’originalità del soggetto e la forza narrativa.
Infine, l’ultimo film di Kathryn Bigelow, A House of Dynamite, riceve i premi per il Miglior Montaggio e il Miglior Sonoro.
