Un giovane studente di un piccolo villaggio indiano stringe amicizia con un albero di mango che assomiglia a un elefante, parlando e condividendo con lui le sue gioie e il suo dolore. Si innesca così una serie di reazioni che quasi divide l’intera società in differenze di casta e classe.
A young student from a small Indian village befriends a mango tree that resembles an elephant, talking to it and sharing his joys and sorrows. The boy’s grandmother is ill and on her deathbed, and she asks him to get her a fritter. This sets off a chain of reactions that nearly divides the entire society along lines of caste and class.
