DIANE WARREN’S SONG FOR THE SOPHIA LOREN STARRER ‘THE LIFE AHEAD’ WINS ‘BEST SONG OF THE YEAR AWARD’ AT THE 25TH EDITION OF CAPRI, HOLLYWOOD – THE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
CAPRI, ITALY, December 30, 2020 – Diane Warren’s “Io Si – Seen” sung by Italian pop-star Laura Pausini for the movie “The Life Ahead” (Netflix), directed by Edoardo Ponti and starring Sophia Loren, has won the “Best Song of the Year Award at the 25th Capri, Hollywood – The International Film Festival that is currently unfolding on social platforms and on the website My Movies (until January 2, 2021), it was announced here today by Tony Renis, the Festival’s Honorary President, who has been curating the music section of the annual event that has been bridging Italy and US for the past 25 years, officially kicking off the highly anticipated awards season.
“The very first collaboration between music legend Diane Warren, (recipient of eleven Oscar nominations as well as numerous Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards) and the Italian pop star Laura Pausini, is simply extraordinary, Renis added. “We are thrilled to present this prestigious award to two friends of the Festival, two extremely talented artists who have contributed to making the beautiful movie by Edoardo Ponti, starring the iconic Sophia Loren, an even more magical and special artistic piece. Pausini, whose artistry is a true pride for Italy, wrote the Italian version of Warren’s song (“Io Sì – Seen”) with Niccolò Agliardi.”
Launched by Atlantic Warner, “Io Si – Seen” is produced by Greg Wells, who is best known for his prolific collaborations with such major artists as Adele, Katy Perry, Celine Dion and Elton John. The song’s executive producer is Bonnie Greenberg (“The Mask,” “Sister Act” and “Desperate Housewives”). In addition to the English and Italian versions, “Io Si – Seen” has also been sung in Spanish (“Yo si”), Portuguese (“Eu sim”), and French (“Moi si”).
Edoardo Ponti’s “The Life Ahead” also received Capri, Hollywood’s Humanitarian Award. In the movie, Loren stars as Madame Rosa, a former Jewish prostitute who hosts distressed children in her home in Bari where she meets the 12-year-old Momò, from Senegal, brilliantly played by Ibrahima Gueye. Produced by Palomar and distributed by Netflix, the film written by Ponti and Ugo Chiti, has a good chance of being recognized at the 2021 Oscars.
The Festival, founded and produced by Pascal Vicedomini in association with the Capri in the World Institute, is supported by the Director General for Cinema and Audiovisual of Italy’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism and the Campania Region Intesa Sanpaolo, Isaia, Pegaso University and Terna.

More Than 60 Feature Films, 75 Short Films and Numerous Celebrities Will Be Participating Via MyMovies and the Festival’s Social Media Pages
ROME, December 22 – Edoardo Ponti’s “The Life Ahead (“La vita davanti a sé”) starring Sophia Loren, will receive Capri, Hollywood – The International Film Festival’s prestigious Capri Humanitarian Award, it was announced here today. The 25th edition of the Festival which offically kicks off the 2021 awards season, will be presented on digital platforms from December 26th, 2020 to January 2nd, 2021, and will feature some 200 works including theatrical movies, documentaries and short films that will be available gratis on My Movies, along with digital meetings and conferences attended by luminaries from the entertainment business.
“According to Ms. Loren, the movie’s extraordinary leading actress, ‘The Life Ahead’ is a tale of tolerance, forgiveness and love, a story exploring qualities and values that particularly now appear ever more precious,” said Pascal Vicedomini, the Festival’s founder and producer, adding that “Edoardo Ponti has created an enthralling work of art that will touch the hearts of viewers from all around the world as the legendary Sophia Loren once again portrays a new, unforgettable character and and does it with a magnificent, awards-worthy performance.”
In Ponti’s “The Life Ahead,” Loren stars as Madame Rosa, a former Jewish prostitute who hosts distressed children in her home in Bari where she meets the 12-year-old Momò, from Senegal, brilliantly played by Ibrahima Gueye. Produced by Palomar and distributed by Netflix, the film was adapted from Romain Gary’s classic book, which had previously inspired an Oscar-winning movie in 1977 starring Simone Signoret. This new version was written by Ponti and Ugo Chiti, and the film’s score features Laura Pausini’s new song “Io sì” written by Diane Warren.
The Festival is presented by the Capri in the World Institute and is presided over by Antonio Lorusso Petruzzi. It is supported by the Director General for Cinema and Audiovisual of Italy’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism and the Campania Region, along with the Town of Capri, the Municipality of Anacapri, the Italian Red Cross, Nuovo Imaie and with the participation of Intesa Sanpaolo, Isaia, Pegaso Università Telematica and Terna.

The Festival will open with ‘Tribute to Gianfranco Rosi’, a section designed to present “Notturno”, which has been named by Capri Hollywood as the European Film of the Year and has been selected to represent Italy at the upcoming Oscars. Tributes are also scheduled for Paolo Sorrentino, Antonio Capuano, Donato Carrisi, Enrico Lucherini. Rainbow – Colorado Studios will be recognized for their outstanding work in the field of animation.
‘A Digital Room With a View’ offers a wide selection of international arthouse movies (including “Favolacce,” “Miss Marx” and “Waiting For The Barbarians” starring Mark Rylance and Johnny Depp).
The section ‘Comedy Italian Style’ offers hit 2020 movies by Enrico Vanzina and the comedy trio Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo.
‘Docu is Beautiful’ presents 14 works revolving around poignant social themes (from ‘Fandango At The Wall’ by Varda Bar-Kar to ‘Fuori era Primavera’ by Salvatores). The Documentary of the Year is Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw’s “Truffle Hunters,” a work dedicated to Alba and its truffles.
The “Capri Special Contest 2020” section, which was created with “The Artists Club Italia” and Film Freeway, will include 1,600 works from 90 countries which were selected and divided between “Working Authors” and “The Italian Job” (featuring Italian popular performers and authors like Haber, Marchioni, Minaccioni, Finocchiaro, Braucci).
