The Italian actress Micaela Ramazzotti with her directorial debut “Felicità” will receive the inaugural “Capri – Lina Wertmuller Award”. The movie will be screened on Friday, December 29, 3.00 pm at Cinema Paradiso – Anacapri.
The movie was appreciated by critics and audiences at the 80th Venice Film Festival, which awarded it in the Orizzonti extra section. The story of a dysfunctional family directed by Micaela Ramazzotti starring Max Tortora, Anna Galiena, Sergio Rubini.
The “Capri – Lina Wertmuller Award” is the prestigious prize established to honor the memory of the legendary Oscar-award-winning filmmaker, who passed away three years ago. Wertmuller, born in Rome and an honorary citizen of the city of Naples, was an avid supporter of Capri Hollywood for many decades.
A long-standing supporter of female creativity and women’s empowerment in the entertainment industry, Capri Hollywood is honored to have an array of outstanding female artists on its board of directors, including the Oscar-winning production designer Oscar Francesca Lo Schiavo, Oscar winning costume designer Gabriella Pescucci, director Liliana Cavani (a Golden Lion recipient for Career Achievement in 2023), and performers Edwige Fenech and Lina Sastri.
This year the festival, which is dedicated to the legendary Marcello Mastroianni – “Capri Hollywood – The International Film Festival 2023” is produced by Capri in The World Institute with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture and the Region Campania (Film Commission Campania).
