U.S. dramedy wins ex aequo with Portugal’s “Dulcinea.” Awards to Austria, Netherlands and Italian Grispello for “Molise: Happy Tropic”

Naples January 03, 2024. On the final evening of the 28th edition of “Capri, Hollywood – The International Film Festival”, the winners of the Capri Special Contest, a competitive section open to films from around the world and now in its fourth edition, were announced.
Winning ex aequo for the Best Feature Film is the U.S. film “Bucky F*cking Dent”, a family dramedy that marks the directorial debut of David Duchovny, the unforgettable Agent Mulder of “X Files” and star of hit series such as “Californication”; the Portuguese “Dulcinea”, by Artur Serra Araújo, a psychological mystery that mixes art and life, truth and fiction.

The Best Documentary is the environmentalist “La Escondida” (Austria), directed by Raphael Reichl, about the economic development of the resort town of Puerto Escondido and the contradictions it generates in the coastal and marine ecosystem.
The Best Short Film is “About Me” (Netherlands), directed by Ali Asgari, a tale of ordinary violence on women’s bodies and wills at the hands of a patriarchal mentality that endures even in secular and evolved societies.
Young filmmaker Luigi Grispello was honored with a Special Jury Prize for the Italian documentary “Molise: Tropico Felice,” an ethnographic and anthropological journey to one of Italy’s least known lands, Molise.

“Capri Hollywood Festival 2023” started on December 26, with more than 200 screenings at ANACAPRI Cinema Paradiso, CAPRI Cinema Internazionale, and on the digital platforms mymovies.it and eventive.org 

“Capri Hollywood – The International Film Festival 2023” is produced by Capri in The World Institute with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture and the Region Campania (Film Commission Campania).
