Starting December 27 on the Blue Island, the best of new international cinema

Funk, Alanah Bloor, Cristiano Caccamo and Liliana Mele will be the protagonists of the Capri Rising Star Awards 2025, the classic and prestigious honor of the Capri Hollywood Festival dedicated to fast-rising talents, often a harbinger of careers destined to shine on the global cinematic stage.
Over the years, the award has spotlighted artists who later went on to achieve international acclaim, including Gerard Butler, Michael Fassbender, Andrew Garfield, Jesse Eisenberg and Daniel Brühl. Among the women who have received the recognition are Eva Mendes, Imogen Poots, Mélanie Laurent and Hayden Panettiere, along with several leading figures of Italian cinema such as Edoardo Leo and Carolina Crescentini.
The four honorees of the 2025 edition represent some of the most compelling voices in today’s audiovisual landscape.
Nolan G. Funk, a Canadian actor, singer and dancer, first gained attention with the musical Spectacular! and went on to score notable roles in hit series such as Glee and The Flight Attendant. His film credits include Riddick and House at the End of the Street, while on Broadway he starred in Bye Bye Birdie. Widely regarded as one of the most promising international stars of his generation, Funk continues to stand out in global projects such as Eternity.
Cristiano Caccamo, also featured in Eternity, is already well known for his role in Leopardi directed by Sergio Rubini, confirming an artistic trajectory marked by steady and significant growth.
Alanah Bloor is one of the breakout television revelations of the year thanks to her role as Marianna in the event series Sandokan, among the season’s major successes.
Liliana Mele, an Italian-Ethiopian actress, has appeared in both film and television, with credits including Gente di mare, Rome, L’isola di Pietro and Mare Fuori.
The awards will be presented as part of Capri Hollywood, the international festival promoted by the Istituto Capri nel Mondo, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Campania Region, and with the participation of Intesa Sanpaolo and Givova.
The 2025 edition of the festival will be dedicated to Ennio Morricone. In his honor, a special performance is scheduled in the Piazzetta in Anacapri and in Capri by the Vatican Gendarmerie Band, conducted for the occasion by the Maestro’s son, Andrea Morricone.
The festival is led by Anglo-Sicilian actor Vincent Riotta, alongside honorary president Tony Renis. Opening the event will be the film 260 Days, starring Tim Roth, Armand Assante and Ángela Molina. Other announced and honored artists for this year’s edition include Monica Guerritore and Alessandro Preziosi.

Funk, Alanah Bloor, Cristiano Caccamo e Liliana Mele i protagonisti dei Capri Rising Star Awards 2025, il classico e prestigioso riconoscimento del Capri Hollywood Festival dedicato ai talenti in forte crescita, spesso anticipatore di carriere destinate a brillare nel panorama cinematografico mondiale.
Nel corso degli anni, il premio ha valorizzato artisti che si sono poi affermati a livello internazionale, tra cui Gerard Butler, Michael Fassbender, Andrew Garfield, Jesse Eisenberg, Daniel Brühl. Tra le donne che hanno ricevuto il riconoscimento figurano Eva Mendes, Imogen Poots, Mélanie Laurent e Hayden Panettiere, oltre a numerosi protagonisti del cinema italiano, tra cui Edoardo Leo e Carolina Crescentini.

I premi saranno consegnati nell’ambito di Capri Hollywood, il festival internazionale promosso dall’Istituto Capri nel Mondo, con il sostegno del Ministero della Cultura e della Regione Campania, e con la partecipazione di Intesa Sanpaolo e Givova.
L’edizione 2025 del festival sarà dedicata a Ennio Morricone. In suo onore è prevista una speciale esibizione in Piazzetta ad Anacapri e a Capri della Banda della Gendarmeria Vaticana, diretta per l’occasione dal figlio del Maestro, Andrea Morricone.
Il festival è guidato dall’attore anglo-siciliano Vincenzo Riotta, al fianco del presidente onorario Tony Renis. Fin dall’apertura sarà presentato il film 260 Days, con Tim Roth, Armand Assante e Ángela Molina.
Tra gli altri artisti annunciati e premiati dell’edizione figurano Monica Guerritore e Alessandro Preziosi.
